Policy & standards

Terms and Conditions

These terms govern Nera Social accounts, credits, event access, attendance, reliability, messaging, safety tools, moderation, and suspension.

Last updated: March 26, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Nera Social, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, our posted safety rules, and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Nera Social provides tools to discover, host, join, and manage small-group events. Some product surfaces may also refer to events as Quests. Eligibility, visibility, and feature access may differ by account state, attendance history, reliability, blocks, event status, and the type of room involved.

Certain operational rules such as stakes, bonuses, thresholds, visibility gates, and enforcement responses may change over time. The product may enforce additional restrictions consistent with these Terms.

2. Eligibility

To use Nera Social, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
  • Use the service only where your use is lawful.
  • Provide accurate registration, profile, and event information.
  • Keep your account credentials secure and use only accounts you are authorized to use.

3. Accounts, Profiles, and Access

When you use Nera Social, you agree that:

  • You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
  • You must promptly update inaccurate profile or event information that could mislead other users.
  • We may use reliability, blocks, prior attendance, and account-type rules to decide what you can see or join.
  • Certain event and profile details may stay limited on public preview pages and unlock only to hosts or authorized participants.
  • We may change, pause, or remove features, visibility gates, and trust mechanics as the product evolves.

4. Social Credits and Stakes

Balances and Stakes

  • New accounts currently start with 100 social credits, though starting balances and onboarding bonuses may change.
  • Community events currently use a 10-credit stake to create or join. Premium or other gated rooms may use a different posted stake.
  • Social credits are in-product participation units only. They are not money, have no cash value, and cannot be sold, transferred, or redeemed outside Nera Social.

Check-In Returns

  • When your check-in is accepted, your staked credits are returned.
  • Bonus credits are governed by current product rules and today usually equal 10% of the stake with at least a 1-credit bonus when the room qualifies for attendance rewards.
  • If a room effectively becomes a solo-attended room, Nera Social may return stake without bonus credits or reliability gains.

Penalty Mechanics

  • No-shows, very late flakes, and other abuse or trust failures can lead to stake forfeiture, additional credit burns, or a temporarily higher next join stake.
  • Current product rules may raise your next required join stake to at least 50 credits after certain severe attendance failures.
  • If your balance stays at zero long enough, Nera Social may issue a basic refill under then-current rules.

5. Event Creation and Hosting

Hosts are responsible for the rooms they create.

  • Nera Social supports in-person and online events. Hosts must provide accurate timing, format, and participation details.
  • In-person events must use lawful, appropriate, and reasonably safe venues. Private residences, secluded spots, or misleading locations may be removed.
  • Rooms are intentionally small. Events must stay within product limits, which currently means 2 to 8 total participants.
  • Hosts must follow venue rules, local law, and any age or access restrictions they set.
  • Public event preview pages may show limited details such as title, city, timing, images, capacity, and light host context. Exact coordinates and meeting links may be withheld until access is earned.
  • We may edit, hide, cancel, or remove events that violate these Terms, our safety rules, or applicable law.

6. Joining, Leaving, and Attendance

Joining and Chat

  • Join only if you genuinely intend to attend and can follow the event requirements shown in product.
  • Only users who joined through Nera Social may attend. Do not bring extra guests or swap attendance outside the app.
  • Participant chat generally opens about 24 hours before the event and may remain available through the check-in period.

Check-In Rules

  • Check-in currently opens at the scheduled time and closes about 3 hours later.
  • Accepted check-ins currently require 1 to 3 photos.
  • In-person rooms may also require recent location confirmation near the venue, including a current 200-meter distance rule where the product enforces it.

Leaving and Refunds

  • Leaving an event usually forfeits your stake.
  • Leaving within 24 hours can reduce your reliability, and leaving very late can trigger extra credit burns and a higher next-stake requirement.
  • If another participant or the host blocked you, Nera Social may allow a clean exit with a full stake refund. If you blocked them first, normal penalties may still apply.

7. Reliability, Eligibility, and Trust Gates

Score Basics

  • Nera Social uses a 1000 to 2000 reliability rating, and new member accounts currently start at 1500.
  • Showing up, checking in, and maintaining clean attendance streaks can improve your rating.
  • No-shows, late cancellations, report penalties, and other trust failures can lower it.

Current Gates

  • Current premium access rules include a minimum reliability gate of 1500.
  • Premium access may also require your completed events to offset flakes unless a host or admin bypass applies.
  • Some rooms may require 1800+ reliability and be marked as Supernova-only.

What Can Change

  • The labels, formulas, thresholds, and rewards tied to reliability may change over time.
  • We may display reliability, completed-event counts, or related trust signals to other users where the product design calls for it.
  • Low reliability or repeated rule-breaking can limit your ability to join certain rooms or use trust-based features.

8. Messaging, Circles, Reviews, and Highlights

Messaging and Circles

  • Event chat is for room coordination and is available only to eligible participants.
  • Direct messages unlock only after Nera Social forms a Circle, which currently requires at least 3 shared attended events between two users.
  • Blocks disable direct messages and can remove Circle visibility or related social access.

Reviews and Highlights

  • Reviews and highlights are participation-based features and may be limited to people with real event context.
  • You may not post false, manipulated, abusive, or infringing review or highlight content.
  • We may remove reviews, captions, media, or other user content that violates these Terms or our safety standards.

9. Safety, Blocking, and Prohibited Conduct

Block Tools

You may block another user. Blocks can shut down direct messaging, remove Circle visibility, hide profile access, or mask a blocked participant inside some event contexts.

Prohibited Conduct

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, exploit, or discriminate against other users.
  • Create misleading events, fake check-ins, false reviews, staged highlights, or otherwise misrepresent attendance or identity.
  • Use Nera Social for scams, spam, commercial solicitation, coordinated manipulation, or unlawful activity.
  • Evade blocks, suspensions, reliability gates, or moderation actions, including through alternate accounts.
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, interfere with, or automate access to the platform except where we explicitly allow it.
  • Bring uninvited guests, publish private join details publicly, or pressure users into unsafe or inappropriate settings.
  • Upload illegal, infringing, hateful, violent, sexual, or otherwise prohibited content.

Personal Judgment

Nera Social adds trust and moderation tools, but it does not guarantee the identity, intent, legality, or conduct of other users. We do not promise that unsafe situations can always be prevented.

If you feel unsafe, leave first. In an emergency, contact local emergency services rather than waiting for an in-app response.

10. Reporting and Enforcement

Reporting is part of how Nera Social enforces room quality, safety, and trust.

  • You may report only users connected to you through a real shared event or another product flow that explicitly permits reporting.
  • Reports may be categorized as minor, major, or severe, and duplicate reports by the same reporter against the same user for the same event may be rejected.
  • Submitting a report may automatically block the reported user so the relationship does not remain socially open during review.
  • Reports can affect reliability, event access, visibility, refunds, and overall account standing.
  • We may investigate, request more information, remove content, hide profiles, restrict features, suspend accounts, or permanently terminate access.
  • We are not required to act on every complaint, disclose every investigative outcome, or resolve every matter within a specific timeframe.

11. Content and Intellectual Property

Nera Social and its licensors own the platform, including the software, site design, branding, text, graphics, and other service materials, except for content you submit.

You retain ownership of content you post, but you grant Nera Social a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, distribute, and moderate that content as needed to operate, improve, promote, and secure the service.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your content and that doing so does not violate law, privacy rights, contracts, or the rights of others.

12. Suspension, Termination, and Account Deletion

  • We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access at any time for safety concerns, fraud, abuse, legal risk, or violation of these Terms.
  • You may stop using Nera Social at any time. If you request account deletion, you may need to cancel upcoming hosted events before deletion can proceed.
  • Account deletion may be queued rather than immediate, and unused credits or feature entitlements may be lost when your account is deleted or terminated.
  • Some past event or moderation records may remain where needed to preserve historical room integrity, satisfy legal obligations, or support legitimate trust and safety functions.

13-15. Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnity

13. Disclaimers

Nera Social is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, suitable for any purpose, or that any event will happen as planned.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nera Social will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, goodwill, data, or opportunities arising from your use of the service.

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Nera Social and its officers, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the service, your content, your events, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

16-17. Changes, Governing Law, and Disputes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the product, by email, or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of Nera Social after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Nera Social operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. To the extent permitted by law, disputes arising from these Terms or the service may be resolved through binding arbitration or another forum designated by enforceable written terms or applicable law.
